3 Minds, 1 Thought
Updated: Feb 2
While it is true that your mind is a terrible thing to waste, most of us do so every day. It may be because we don't realize that our minds exist outside of our heads.
Last night I had a conversation with someone about logic vs emotion and the fact that these two things do not coexist. I disagree with this because there is such a thing as emotional intelligence. With emotional intelligence a person is able to control their and sometimes other people's emotions by using logic to recognize what is going on at any given time (Now be mindful, I'm not psychologist so I'm pretty sure Google can explain this way better that I.)
Big brother, Siri, Bixby, Echo, or whomever is always listening because a post titled "Our 3 Brains" popped onto my Instagram feed.
In the caption of this post @lifebutterflyeffect discussed the duality of the mind and body. There were also two other post on the page that further explained Our 3 Brains .
All three postings resonated with me. It spoke to some of the changes I want to make in my own life.
I sometimes have a hard time with feelings and emotions. Anything I perceive as a form of weakness I try and bury. Not only from the world, but also from myself. That is a major problem because we have 3 brains for a reason. The head, heart and gut play different roles on the same stage. Ignoring one puts too much pressure on the others.
Seven days into this annual cleanse, I have already stumbled. But I'm not mad or disappointed. The journey is sometimes more important than the destination and instead of trying to just get through this month, I am actually taking part in the experience.
