Lost and Found

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

On Tuesday, one of favorite bloggers to follow on Instagram, @heyy_friend_, posted a quote on her page. It read "...'cause we all get lost sometimes, you know? It's how we learn and how we grow."

That quote resonated with me. It's from the song "Cold Water" by Major Lazer that I had never listened to before. A song I probably would have never heard because it does fall into the genres of music that I normally play. It was the song I needed to here.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has had a huge impact on the world over the past month. I know the first case was reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) in December, but of course everything is bigger in Texas. And by Texas I mean the United States.

Things didn't get real for me until mid-March. That's when we began to see my home state, Maryland, shut down little by little. Less than a month after Governor Larry Hogan declared a State of Emergency, the Stay at Home Order went into effect - 3/30/2020.

Besides having an impact on our physical health, this pandemic has taken a toll on the mental health of so many people. Anxiety & Depression are real. The state that the world is in now is bringing many closeted issues to forefront. Including mine.

For the past two weeks, I've felt myself falling down a rabbit hole that didn't have an end. There are so many drafts for different blogs that I've started and could not finish because my mind is cluttered. My sleeping pattern is off more than usual, my body aches, and when I let my guard down - my attitude sucks. On Monday night, I truly felt myself beginning to spiral.

When I say that God is always on time, I mean it. We all know that Instagram's algorithm leaves much to be desired and He made sure that I saw that post on my timeline. That was the fire I needed.

Today has been a good day. Compared to the past week and half I've a great day.

As the quote I mentioned earlier says, we can learn and grow during the times we are lost. It's growth that help us to find ourselves again.

This picture was taken the first day I knew something was off. Up until then, I was getting completely dressed on my work from home days. The blazer you see here was only clothes I put on that day.
